Facebook Backers launch 10mln fund for developers

In addition to Bay Partners launching AppFactory for Facebook Developers, a lot more money is being thrown at the developer community.  The big difference with this round of funding is that some of the investors are opting out of having an equity stake in return.  That’s good.

In my earlier coverage of Facebook Apps, you can sense my obsession with the platform and API.  I think this is a great step forward for one main reason.  At least there is an approval process in place that acts like a content filter for these applications.  At the rate at which they’re going, it is going to be harder and harder to distinguish the good from the not so good.
