As we’re cruising at 34,000 feet above sea level, i am quite amused by the inflight offerings on my Singapore Airlines flight to New Delhi.
13 hours into the flight and i still have not touched my stash of books and papers that i had brought along. I’m typing this post on StarOffice Writer, part of 4 office applications that are a part of the inflight entertainment suite. Although typing on this tiny yet full QWERTY keyboard is a challenge, it isn’t any harder than responding to emails on your blackberry while driving on the 101.
the suite comes with a word processor, a spreadsheet application, a presentation software and a file manager. The console has a USB port to transfer files….not too shabby.
And of course it also has an on-demand library of 100 movies, 180 tv shows, 700 cds, 22 radio channels and 65 games. About 8 more hours of flying time until Delhi, “bring it on” i say….now if only i could get a double espresso.
Here are some screenshots….
